Who is killing our pets?

As you all know from an earlier blog, Our black cat, Cotati was found in our garage on November 17 with a severed spine. The vet could do nothing for him and we had to put him to sleep. The sadness was unbearable and we brought him home and buried him under a tree.

Taken about 2 weeks before Cotati died.

Our orange tabby Mauser was found in our garage last Wednesday. December 17th - exactly 1 month to the day that her brother died. We raced her to the vet and we were sure a Coyote got ahold of her. Imagine our shock to find that someone had shot her. Someone shot our cat!

Taken the day before Mauser was shot.

My husband found these kittens in a field, abandoned by their mother. They were a month old, starving and very near death. We bottle fed them and loved and nurtured them and watched each of them grow to become beautiful healthy loving adult cats. They will be 2 years old in March. We live on 4 acres of land - surrounded by trees and nature. Deer, squirrel, birds, bunnies and more are all around us. The cats loved to chase mice, often bringing them to me YUCK. I now will not allow them to go outside.

Taken on Saturday Nov 20, 2008

Mauser went thru surgery and had her entire right leg removed to the shoulder. She is doing very well and learning to get around on 3 legs. The tragedy that has come to these cats in the last 2 months have taken their toll on us. Emotionally, mentally and financially. Thanks to the economy I am unemployed and we are barely surviving. Mausers surgery will take me years to pay off. Initially she was seen by the very competent staff at Carolina Vet Specialists here in South Charlotte. These people know their stuff and have every bit of technology available to them. But the average person can not afford to visit them with their pet once a year, let alone twice 30 days apart.

We transferred her to Long Animal Hospital on South Blvd. Please, if you need a vet - go visit these people. They are so loving, attentive and kind to YOU and your animal. Mausers surgery was to cost between 2400 and 4800 at Carolina Vet and they wanted 2k for a down payment. Yes, two thousand dollars. Long Animal Hospital took 50 dollars down and will allow us to make payments for as long as it takes. I'm not sure if they do this for all patients, or if this is due to our circumstances and dealing with the loss of Mausers brother a month ago but they are fantastic people. We are grateful and blessed to have found them.
They took awesome care of our furbaby, and I know they will take care of yours too!

To the person responsible for killing one of our cats and critically injuring the other - you need serious help. People on death row start out torturing small animals and move on to people. Get help now.
Our animals will never roam our land again. My teen no longer walks to the bus stop. I no longer feel safe in our secluded little area. Please people - watch your pets and children.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Happy Holidays.

Sisters

I have 2 girls. When they were a tad younger, they fought like they hated each other with a passion. I often told them stories of one of my sisters that died 16 years ago of a brain aneurysm. (it didn't help) There are 7 of us kids, 4 of which are girls. You would think the sudden shocking death of someone so young with a whole life ahead of them would bond the remaining siblings, especially the remaining 3 of us girls. We girls ages are 34, 44 and 51. Here is the problem as I see it.

Sister 1 is 51 years old. She is a hoity toity pretentious bitch. She lives in a big beautiful home that she is constantly redecorating (she is very good at it) and is financially very comfortable. Affording things like plastic surgery, vacations, etc. The rest of us feel like she looks down on us and we are normal middle class working families. She often will say or do something that makes my jaw drop. For instance, she missed my wedding because a food network star was in town and she had tickets. This was after I changed the date twice because SHE had plans. Or, a month ago when I saw her for the first time in almost a year at her sons wedding, and she didn't even glance at me as she spoke to her husband and I said "Uhm.... hello can I get a hug" and she answered "I have to pee first" WTF???????? Those are just 2 tiny examples. Maybe in another post I'll write about all her anti-social behavior (oh it's just fine with her friends, just not her family) Anyway - she is one of the most selfish people I have ever known with massive control issues.

Sister 2 is me. I am often accused of being the sensitive one. Whenever I mention something about my feelings being hurt, or being put off by something said or done, I get the "Well you are just sensitive" I will admit I am very sentimental and well........ sensitive. If I were born a man, I'd be gay - for sure.

Sister 3 is the youngest. What can I say about her other than she's a two faced lying schmuck. See, I will never say anything behind your back that I won't say to your face and I just expect people in my life to be the same. You can think I'm a bitch if ya want - just don't kiss my ass to my face. I hate that. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.

So, I wrote to my family last week and I asked them to name 3 fond memories for each person in the family and send them to me as soon as possible. I wanted to make a nice book with photos for everyone for Christmas. What a wonderful keepsake don't you think? I figured I'd get a little flack from my brothers - cause after all - they are men. But the last thing I expected was bullshit from my sisters.

Sister 3 told me early in the week she was working on it.

Sister 1 told me that she felt put on the spot and that she was being set up because her brothers would have nothing to say about her that is good and that she would do the list, but only if everyone else does because she heard from sister 3 that she deleted it right away.

So, what do I do with this information? Do I write a shame on you email and tell them to kiss my ass? Do I just move on and forget about it.

The thing that bothers me is I truly am a believer in eliminating people and things that have a habit of hurting you. Sister 1 is constant, sister 2 is on the fence. I think I'm going to walk away. Obviously my thoughts and feelings are not important to them so why should I hang on?

Yeah....... I' just going to walk away.

John F. Pendegrass Attorney at Law Chapel Hill NC

Dear John (you don't deserve the respect of me calling you Mr. Pendegrass)

You are an inconsiderate condescending cantankerous asshole. YOU contacted me for business. You were rude from the second you answered the phone and you didn't actually listen to a word I said. When I asked you why you were being so condescending by replying to one of my comments with "DUH!" you had the nerve to hang up on me!

Thank you so much for taking 5 minutes from my life that I will never get back (3 of which was posting this)

Your life really must suck. So sad.

Sincerely,
The person who wouldn't hire you if you were FREE and the last attorney on the planet.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

AT&T/Bell South DSL People Rock

I wake up yesterday and start my normal routine. I stumble into the living room where my wonderful laptop sits and waits for me to check my morning mail, see what sales are coming up for Black Friday. Then of course I had actually work. I can't live without my laptop. I log on, wait for the wheels to whirl, horns to go off, things to happen and ........ oh shit. No Internet connection. So I look and find my modem is dead - completely dead. Turns out when I moved the wireless a few weeks ago, I switched the power cords and apparently blew up the modem that couldn't handle the Wireless power cord.

So I call our DSL provider Bell South (I'm pretty certain I reached Turkey or Istanbul) who tells me that they will ship me a new modem and I'll have it Monday. WHAT??????? OH HELL TO THE NO! So after the operator detects the panic and doom in my voice she tells me that they can get it to me tomorrow - if my UPS works on Thanksgiving. (Further proof she wasn't in the US) and when I tell her how I depend on the Internet to work and I'll lose a week's pay not having that modem for 2 days, she forwards me on to someone who she thinks can help. Next thing I know I'm talking to a sweet gal who is very sympathetic to my plight. She has me on and off hold while she checks to see if any techs are in our area. Finally tells me that she'll have someone here between 12pm and 5pm. YAAAY!

At 11pm I get a phone call from Angelo who tells me he'll be by in about an hour. I answered with "I LOVE YOU" and he promptly busted into laughter and said "I don't get that customers much" An hour later my hero arrived dressed in uniform with a big ole smile on his face. He was here for a few hours bless his heart. Replacing the modem was simple, getting 2 laptops and a desktop, not so much. On top of that, my wireless router seems to be kaput as well. No problem says Angelo, I have one in the truck. Within minutes he has mine and my daughters laptops cruisin the net. Then he goes to the computer room to hook up hubbys desktop. An hour later and 2 usb wireless thingy ma bobbers and it's still not working. Angelo pops up out of the chair and says "I have another one in my truck" and he comes back in and works it another half hour or so - still no connection. Hubby comes in and they chat for awhile and eventually get it to work with one of our original thingy ma bobbers.

So, in conclusion I'd like to thank AT&T/Bell South and especially Angelo and the nameless gal who helped get my Internet working in no time. Funny side story. I asked Angelo if he had children and he said "A 4 year old son and another 2 due in July" I said "Twins? You are expecting twins?" He said "Well, we're not for sure. But one day our 4yo told his mom that she had 2 boys in her belly and we weren't even trying and her period was still a week away, she took a pregnancy test that day and was pregnant, we'll find out if it's twins shortly" Amazing huh?

Thank you Angelo - you are my hero!
